Supported Projects

  • Welcome House, England, 2020: The Breslaff Centre has financially supported this organisation which is working to assist destitute asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in Hull.

 

  • Enthum Foundation, Lewes, East Sussex England, 2020: The Breslaff Centre has financially supported the setting up of Enthum House which offers supported semi-independent accommodation for unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Minors aged 16-18.

 

  • British Red Cross, Luton, 2020: Breslaff contiued supporting the Red Cross through their staff member, Ms Barz-Meltzer volunteering their time to run occasional craft workshops with the refugees and/or their children as well as a donation to cover travel costs for clients to attend the activities. The craft sessions here focussed on concluding the series of garment sewing workshops and starting a new series of workshops on fabric printing until these meetings could no longer be continued due to the Covid-19 epidemic.

 

  • Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership (WTRRP), Watford: Breslaff staff member, Ms Barz-Meltzer continued to organise and co-lead the monthly women's group sessions until meeting was no longer possible due to the Covid-19. The meetings continued to focus on craft and well-being.

 

  • St John's Church - Kids Can Cook, Farley Hill, Luton: Ms Barz-Meltzer continued to carry out craft workshops during the holidays with the children attending the Kids-Can-Cook sessions, doing a workshop on making wind-chimes and one on making aracord bracelet.
